TRADITIONAL AYURVEDIC MASSAGES

SIRODHARA
In this process, herbal oils, medicated milk, medicated buttermilk and other concoctions are poured on the forehead in a special method for 30 to 45 minutes after a relaxing full body massage. This is one of the most relaxation-providing therapies in Ayurveda and is very effective in the treatment of insomnia, sleeping disorders, mental tension and certain skin diseases.
KIZHI
Here the whole body or any specific part of the body is made to perspire by applying certain medical puddings (made of a special rise called ‘njavara’ prepared in a concoction of milk and herbs) externally in the form of small sacks tied up in muslin bags. This is helpful in healing all types of rheumatism, pain in the joints, certain skin diseases, diabetic neuropathy, and all degenerative diseases.
